Brandon Figueroa Set to Deliver Fight Night Fireworks
LAS VEGAS – Two-division world champion Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa is ready to make a statement. On Saturday, July 19, he returns to the ring to face veteran contender Joet Gonzalez in a featured bout at the MGM Grand. This fight kicks off the pay-per-view card headlined by Manny Pacquiao vs. Mario Barrios, live on Prime Video.
Figueroa enters the bout with a new mindset and a new trainer. He’s now working with Manny Robles, a respected name in boxing. Together, they’ve focused on sharpening his skills and building a stronger fight plan. “I needed something new,” said Figueroa. “Training with Manny has pushed me to another level. I’m giving 110 percent to this camp.”
High Stakes and a Perfect Style Matchup
His opponent, Joet Gonzalez (27-4), is known for his relentless pressure. All of his losses have come against top champions. He recently scored a big win over Arnold Khegai, proving he’s still a dangerous threat. Figueroa believes their styles will create an exciting matchup.
“Joet’s a forward-moving fighter,” said Figueroa. “That’s perfect for me. I won’t have to chase him. We’ll meet in the middle, and fans are going to love it.” Figueroa’s goal is clear: deliver Fight of the Night — or better yet, Fight of the Year.
Fighting on a Legend’s Card
For Figueroa, fighting on Manny Pacquiao’s undercard is more than just a career moment. “It’s a blessing,” he said. “I grew up watching Manny. Now I get to share the stage with him.” That energy is fueling his motivation.
As the opening fight on a stacked card, Figueroa knows he’s setting the tone. “It’s my job to start the show right. I’m ready to bring everything I’ve got.”
What to Expect July 19
The action takes place at MGM Grand Garden Arena, with the main card beginning at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT. The full card includes big names like Sebastian Fundora, Tim Tszyu, and Isaac Cruz. Tickets are on sale now at AXS.com.
